Sustainable Supper Club Recap

Recap of the evening:

Thank you for joining this last Saturday (1/11)!

To everyone who came, supported, and shared this moment with me: thank you. You are so special to me. This night was a reflection of everything I hold dear—community, compassion, and the belief that we can create a better world when we come together. This was the best birthday I could have asked for!

The night was filled with meaningful conversations, delicious food, and shared stories that reminded us of the power of coming together to make a difference. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting those in need, the evening also served as a fundraiser for a critical cause. All of our food systems are connected and it is a goal of mine to use these dinners to come together, uplift each other, and other mutual aid efforts all over.

Shout outs:

This incredible event couldn’t have happened without help!

  • Allison, my precious cousin and pastry chef for the cake of my dreams and elaborate dinner menu!

  • Haven aka Fielding Floral for the incredible bouquets!! Check out their page to learn more about their sustainable practices in the floral industry and if you want a creative genius to support your events!

The fundraiser results:

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised $695!!! Of this total, $490 was donated to Gaza Soup Kitchen, to support their on the ground efforts in Gaza providing food support and direct aid to refugees displaced, but still trapped in Gaza by the ongoing genocide.

The remaining $205 (my personal contribution), was allocated to the most incredible and brave soul named Omar (and his sweet family) with whom I’ve developed a personal relationship. I encourage you to follow Omar and learn more about his journey. For someone who’s been through literal hell, he remains such a beacon of light for those around him and is teaching me incredible compassion and hope in the darkest hour. You can directly contribute to his GoFundMe to support him and his young sisters and mother get warm clothing and food. They can use all the help they can get as it is winter and the only food they have access to in the refugee camp is spoiled flour.

Your contributions are a testament to the strength of collective action and the importance of showing up for one another—both locally and globally!! I love y’all so much!!

Here’s to continuing the journey toward sustainability, justice, and a more compassionate world. Excited to see y’all at next month’s dinner. Thanks for the most beautiful birthday!

The next dinner will be mid February, so stay tuned for the RSVP drop. That will cap at 15-20 people.

With the deepest of love,
Christa
